Education minister Charles Muriganda, and his Ugandan counterpart, Namirembe Bitamazire, yesterday toured the stand of Rwanda Education Commons at the ongoing regional education expo organised by the Ministry of Education. This was during the opening ceremony where the visibly impressed ministers were guided around the REC stand by the REC deputy coordinator, Louise Karamage. She showcased the project activities that include the education portal, smart learning videos and past papers that provide access to learning and teaching material. The four-day expo held at the Kigali Institute of Science and Education, is organized under the theme: “ quality education for
intercultural understanding and regional development”. It brings together
various educational institutions from EAC partner states to showcase
educational opportunities in the region. Ministry officials say the expo is being attended by over 100 primary and secondary schools,vocational and higher institutions of learning,
private sector firms and companies from the region dealing in education. Being exhibited are items like information about
registration requirements, curriculum, fees structure, customized items like
calendars, caps, flags, kits and demonstrating practical achievements. |
