Management Institute launches MBA programme

The Kigali Institute of Management (KIM), has introduced a 2-year Masters of Business Administration programme that will cost US$8900.

The MBA programme, that will be run in close partnership with the Business School of the Netherlands, is targeting business leaders.

According to the institute’s Rector, Prof. Daniel O. Musungu, the programme will equip the already employed business leaders with problem solving skills in their daily activities and enable them compete with the rest in the region.

Rwanda is the fourth country in Africa after South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya in which the 24-month international action learning progamme has been introduced.

Musungu noted that with the help of experts from the Netherlands, the local faculty will be equipped with new skills to deliver quality education.

Speaking at the launch, on Friday, Dr. Herman Van, from the business school of Netherlands, said the programme was established to meet the actual training and development needs of business managers.

“This course inspires business leaders to grow and develop in the best possible way, establishing themselves as true professionals within their competitive environments,” Herman said.

KIM is still awaiting full accreditation and according to the Rector, the institute was given temporary accreditation, with students expected to graduate in September, this year.

“KIM is now officially recognized by the government and very soon we will be accredited,” Musungu said.
