The Association for Promotion of the Vulnerable (APV), yesterday
reached out to primary school going orphans in Ndera Sector by giving
them scholastic materials worth Rwf 600,000. These orphans were from Jurwa and Gasogi primary schools, both in Ndera Sector. Joy
Basinga, the Executive Director of APV, said the organization aims at
improving the lives of the vulnerable groups in the country such as
widows and orphans. “Since our inception in 2007, we have tried to reach out to the people in the villages using the resources we have. Young people form a very important pillar in this country and they are the future of this nation,” basing said. She
added that, APV aims at giving all children equal chances to access
education by not only paying their school fees, but also giving them
scholastic materials. Regina Mukansanga, a 16-year-old primary five orphan is one of the recipients. “I
am so happy today. I have been facing difficulties with my education
because I did not have books but now I am going to study hard and get
promoted,” Mukansanga said. By Innocent Ninsiima |
