Kigali Institute of Management (KIM) will, this week, hold its maiden graduation ceremony. The
institute first obtained temporary accreditation from the National
Council for Higher Education (NCHE) in 2006 but it was not until May
this year that it received full accreditation. The graduation ceremony slated for September 23 will see 289 students awarded a Bachelors degree in Business Management (BBM). Speaking to The New Times,
the institute`s Vice Rector Academics, Ronald Alfred Olar, said the
graduates include all students who had completed studies since 2009. Out of the 289 graduates, 165 are female. Six students will be awarded First Class Honours, four of whom are female. KIM
was established in 2003 under the name International College of
Accounting and Management with the aim of producing professional
accountants. In 2005, the institute acquired its current name to train business management skills.
