Gilbert Mucyo, the FIAB Information Officer said that about 10 universities from Uganda, Burundi and the DRC have confirmed participation.
“The festival is part of the awareness campaign for issues such as family planning, justice and unity among students from the Great Lakes universities,” Mucyo said.
The three-day festival will see students compete in various disciplines, including dance, drama, music and drums under the theme; “the promotion of social welfare of the population through family planning in the African Great Lakes sub-region.”
The winning group in each competitive discipline will walk away with Rwf 500,000.
