On Tuesday July 2012, all the partners in the education system for the development met with the officials from the Ministry of Education. On the agenda were the revision of the Education Sector Strategic Plan (ESSP) and the preparation of the coming Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Strategy (EDPRS).
In his opening remarks, the Minister of Education, Dr Vincent Biruta praised the ESSP considerable achievements such as the fast-tracking of 9YBE and now12YBE, the establishment of the Rwanda Education Board and the Workforce Development Authority.

During this one-day meeting, participants stressed that the entire past two years realizations of ESSP will inspire the EDPRS 2 which will in turn guide the future education system of Rwanda.
All along their discussions participants have mainly targeted the quality of education for all Rwandans.
